Chatham University will host a wonderful lecture in Campbell Memorial Chapel presented by former U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski – “Dean of Senate Women” – Wednesday April 19th from 6-7:30 pm. Former Senator Mikulski is the longest serving Congresswoman in U.S. history having started her career 1976. Her work has focuses on issues ranging from civil rights to cyber security to education to being the primary sponsor of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which addressed salary discrimination against women.
Mikulski also became the first women chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee in 2012 and in 2015 was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Obama.
